July 12, 2013 Media Contact: Dinah Massie 713-881-3244 Freeway Closure at IH-10 the East Freeway Westbound at IH-45 North TxDOT Maintenance Section En Route Houston TranStar officials are notifying the public that an overturned 18-wheeler westbound at IH-10 the East Freeway and IH-45 North has closed all main lanes of the freeway. TxDOT workers are en route to determine the anticipated length of time for the closure. Westbound travelers are being detoured onto US 59 South. More information will be provided as it is available. Houston TranStar is a consortium of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
