I-10 at McCarty Lane Closed in Both Directions
Travelers are urged to choose another route or departure time

Houston TranStar officials are advising the public that a jackknifed heavy truck with a fuel leak is blocking three eastbound main lanes of I-10 East at McCarty Lane. Traffic is getting around the incident using the exit ramp at Wayside and re-entering the main lanes.

All westbound lanes of I-10 East are blocked by emergency vehicles.

Because of the fuel spill, the incident is anticipated to last into the rush period, so travelers are urged to consider taking an alternate route or change their travel times.

Houston TranStar is a consortium of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston.
