May 16, 2013 Media Contact: Dinah Massie 713-881-3244 Lane Closure at US 59 Southbound at W. Bellfort Closure expected to last until mid-afternoon Houston TranStar officials are notifying the public that a fatal motorcycle accident at US 59 Southwest Freeway southbound at W. Bellfort has closed four main lanes and the southbound frontage road. Closure is expected to continue until about 3:30 PM. Travelers are advised to choose another route or departure time if possible. Houston TranStar is a consortium of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
