Media Contact: Dinah Massie 713.881.3244 Main Lanes of US 290 Eastbound at Beltway 8 Closed Incident involves heavy trucks and spilled hydraulic fluid Houston TranStar officials are notifying area travelers that all main eastbound lanes of US 290 at Beltway 8 are blocked by an incident involving two heavy trucks with spilled hydraulic fluid. Cleanup is expected to last at least two hours, so travelers are advised to consider taking an alternate route or changing their departure times. Houston TranStar is an alliance of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
