713.881.3244 Houston TranStar Advises Travelers of Washburn Tunnel Area Congestion Construction in Washburn Tunnel area will delay traffic (October 2, 2009) Houston TranStar officials advise the public traveling in the Washburn Tunnel area to expect delays on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4 and again during the following weekend, October 10 and 11. N. Shaver road heading northbound will be affected by construction from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for two weekends. No other roads are affected and the tunnel will remain open. Houston TranStar is a collaboration between four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergency in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents their agencies are the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
