Aired ‘live’ on Monday, February 14th from Allen Parkway with the city’s skyline as a backdrop, ABC World News Tonight’s transportation segment was seen by an audience of well over 8.5 million viewers. Additionally, while in Houston, Mr. Jennings was briefed on a few other initiatives currently underway in the greater Houston region designed to improve travel conditions including: synchronized traffic signals, coordinated construction activity, an aggressive intelligent transportation system deployment strategy, personalized traffic alerts for motorists and how multiple government agencies working together with private corporations have been able to successfully deliver a higher level of service to citizens in the region.
