| On May 17th, Harris County will be hosting an Electronics Recycling Event. This event will show people how to safely collect and dispose of electronics waste, such as computers, televisions, VCRs and cell phones.
Many people do not yet know that these wastes are the #1 contributor to our landfills of such heavy metals as lead and mercury. Although Harris County has been collecting such household wastes as paint, pesticides, fertilizers,and motor oil for several years, this is the first collection of electronics wastes for many residents of unincorporated Harris County.
