- Vehicles access the HOV lane at Northwest Transit Center

- The Metropolitan Transit Authority has opened the US 290 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane to all passenger vehicles to alleviate traffic problems caused by the accident at US 290 at 43rd St.

- The HOV lane can be accessed at the Northwest Transit Center, located at Old Katy Rd. east of N. Post Oak Rd.

Vehicles will be diverted to frontage road past Bingle

- Houston TranStar officials are notifying area travelers that all lanes are closed on US 290 westbound at 43rd St. because of a major accident. Vehicles will be diverted off the freeway at 43rd, then allowed to re-enter the freeway after Bingle.

- Because the situation is expected to remain through the rush hour, travelers should expect long delays on US 290.
